The Body of Christ

1 Corinthians 12:12-20

Mouth & Ears-Cindy
She is our main contact for communication with the tias, the children, thetaxi, thebakery, and the supermarket. I can't imagine her not being there.

Eyes-Kathy
She takes everything in and takes notes so we can share it with everyone back home in our blog.

Arms-Barbara
She is always reaching out for hugs from the children and also to include everyone (even Nathan and Chris, who were supposed to go to Otavalo with us but were late-she threatened to lay down in front of the bus if we didn't wait for them). She also reaches out to the special needs children.

Shoulder-Claudia
She is someone we can always lean on, either to help with chores, writing a finger-puppet play, or for comfort.

Brain-Don
He is our logistics manager, keeping track of money, hotel & flight arrangements, and the safe.

Heart-Lorraine
She shares love in her stories of her past experiences and her advice is to love all of the children, especially the ones who don't know how to show love back.

Hands-Al
He is good with repairing things, handyman work, building, and even cooking!

Personality-Nancy
She is outgoing, friendly, and funny. I especially enjoyed watching her with Heather & Cassandra.

Funny Bone-Russ
I think that's obvious.

Fingers-Jennifer
She packs, she sorts, she counts people to make sure we are all accounted for, and of course because she has fifty finger puppets.

Soul-Pastor Andy
He makes sure we do devotions and prayers before meals, and answers our spiritual questions we have along the way.

Head-Craig
I saved the best for last! He had the vision and spearheaded the whole mission.

-Jennifer Mohedano

PS We are leaving on a bus for La Tacunga right now and may not have Internet access for the three days we are there. If not, we will be back blogging on Friday. Until then, blessings, hugs, and kisses to all of you!

  1. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us. And thank you for what you are doing. The smiles on the kids tell the story! Be safe on your trip and we look forward to your stories upon your return. So, Kathy, continue those notes!
